The Town of Dillon is a lakeside mountain community of a thousand people located midst some of the world's greatest ski resorts in Summit County, Colorado.  The congenial residents of affordable Dillon CO homes enjoy a quality lifestyle in a tremendously scenic location.

Real estate in Dillon, Colorado is near unique shops and eateries, microbreweries, a bowling alley, batting cages, and Gart Sports outlet in addition to the newer stores such as Borders and Sports Authority.  Additional services and amenities in Breckenridge, Keystone, and Copper Mountain, Silverthorne and Frisco real estate are just a short free shuttle ride away.

The vibrant community and residents of homes in Dillon go all out to offer the millions of memorable experiences at small-town events.  They host the Lighting of Dillon in January, a Soap Box Derby in June, an Ice Melt Parade and Princess Coronation in mid April, a Clean up Day in May, the Dillon Arts Festival, the nation’s highest-altitude BBQ cook off, and a fantastic Fourth of July with fireworks over Lake Dillon.  There are nature’s nights, farmers markets, sunset concerts, bike races and 5-K runs, and Saturday night summer concerts and theater performances in the Lake Dillon amphitheater.

Dillon Reservoir is one of Colorado’s most pristine recreation areas, surrounded on all sides by unrivaled mountain views. The crystal-clear water, cool mountain air, and breathtaking scenery combine to create memorable experiences at this 3,300-acre recreation area.  The Dillon Recreational Bike Path and the Summit County Bike Trail pass along the lake, feeding to a series of bike trails that connect the communities of Summit County.

The Snake River, the Blue River and the Ten Mile Creek feed Dillon Reservoir, creating a deep water Marina.  The Dillon Marina provides a quality recreational experience, exceptional service, and is host to a variety of activities and special events throughout the season.  The Dillon Marina is a certified American Sailing Association (ASA) sailing school, offers captained sailing tours, and assists with pontoon boat, sailboat and runabout rentals.

The Summit County Schools, headquartered nearby, and Colorado Mountain College offer educational opportunities for the families.  Lessons about recreational activities from horseback riding to mountaineering are also engaging for older children.  With a talented population in the area, there are actually lessons available for any activity available in the area including classical music lessons offered by members of the Symphony.

To provide water storage for Denver, the Town moved to its present location at the northeastern shore of the lake after the reservoir filled up in 1963.

Three rivers previously came together at the site of the Old Dillon.  There a trading post and clusters of cabins existed in the late 1800s.  Visit the old school house, which is now the Summit Historical Society Museum, to learn more about how the town moved to its present home.   From the Mile High City, take I-70 West to exit 205. Turn left after exiting and drive 2 miles to the top of the hill.
