Summit County’s largest sector of in-town residential real estate is in Frisco, Colorado on the edge of the White River National Forest and Lake Dillon. Mount Royal overlooks the Frisco CO homes. Without affiliation to any specific ski resort—yet close to Copper Mountain, Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, and Keystone—the Town of Frisco is beloved by all.
Over 2,500 residents enjoy year-round life midst these top-notch resorts, winter and summer recreational activities, great schools, restaurants, shops, medical services, and many more amenities while living less than two hours along Interstate 70 west of Denver and the Denver International Airport. The convenient location makes Frisco CO real estate exceptional for investment portfolios as well as for Rocky Mountain vacation homes and second homes in Frisco for residents who have jobs in the cities along the Front Range.
Frisco features historic buildings from the 1800s gold and silver rushes. A quaint downtown offers all of the amenities of a resort area: après ski, fine and casual dining, shops, boutiques, the professions and services. Not only that, but Main Street is the site for a variety of superior summer events, concerts, street fairs, runs, bicycle and athletic events, celebrations, festivals, the big Colorado BBQ, and, good ole fireworks on the Fourth of July. Its Historic Museum stands to tell tales of an interesting past.
Folks do not live on their laurels around here, however. Every day brings exciting weather, mostly sparkling with sunshine and moderate because of the low humidity. Beginning with wintertime fun, people are out making history on the ski runs, the pipes, at the Nordic Center, tromping in snowshoes, and riding in sleighs and snowmobiles. Ice skaters and hockey players are gliding over the frozen ponds and lakes, and everyone soaks up the vibrant, fresh mountain air.
When the seasons change, they may head to the Bay Marina and jump into canoes, kayaks, and sailboats, ride the mountain-biking trails or the trail system that connects the resorts, or grab golf clubs and get some sun out on one of the award-winning golf courses in the area. Many take long walks and hikes and get out under the stars somewhere in the forest. Still others are out playing baseball or riding horses.
The Town is popular and growing. Its mayor and council creatively inspire input and assistance from residents to improve the quality of life of this independent-thinking community. Along with the administrative offices for the schools, a local preschool, elementary school, middle school are right in town and the high school is just outside of town. A local campus of Colorado Mountain College is also in the area.
